Some Ignatian Prayers:

DRAW ME INTO YOUR FRIENDSHIP
Lord Jesus, from the start
you invite ordinary people to come to you.
When they come, you welcome them
and call them to walk with you,
to labor and rejoice with you.
You are the most beautiful among all human beings,
and I hardly believe you want me for your friend.
Lord, by the power of your love
draw me ever more deeply
into your friendship
and lead me along the way you took:
the way that leads to truth and life.
Adapted from a prayer of Joseph Tetlow, SJ

CENTER OUR HEARTS
O God, what will you do to conquer
the fearful hardness of our hearts?
Lord, you must give us new hearts,
tender hearts, sensitive hearts,
to replace hearts that are made of stone.
You must give us your own heart, Jesus.
Come, lovable Heart of Jesus.
Place your Heart deep in the center of our hearts
and enkindle in each heart a flame of love
as strong, as great, as the sum of all the reasons
that I have for loving you, my God.
O holy Heart of Jesus, dwell hidden in my heart,
so that I may live only in you and only for you,
so that, in the end, I may live with you eternally in heaven.
Amen.
-St. Claude la Colombiere, SJ

PRAYER TO KNOW GOD’S WILL
May it please the supreme and divine Goodness
to give us all abundant grace
ever to know his most holy will
and perfectly to fulfill it.
St. Ignatius of Loyola
(a prayer he added to the end of many letters)

TEACH ME THY PATHS
Show, O Lord, they ways to me
and teach me thy paths
Direct me in thy truth and teach me:
For thou are my God and Savior
St. Peter Faber, SJ
