Taking a Breath: A Contemplative and Connecting Evening for Campus Ministers

The Lenten season is a busy one for many Christians in ministry, and campus ministers no less. Amid your daily service and before the rush of the season, please join us for your own retreat space so that you can “take a breath”: connect with other colleagues, share your faith and experiences, pray with us, and most of all decompress. Grade school, high school and college campus ministers alike are welcome.

We’ll begin with a reflection inspired by Pope Francis’s encyclical Fratelli Tutti and the charism of the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, who animate St. Raphaela Center. As we work with young people to promote a culture of genuine encounter marked by collaboration instead of competition, where are we on our own spiritual journey towards human fraternity? We will continue with small and large group sharing, dinner, and a simple musical liturgy with Eucharistic Adoration and periods of silence.
